SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Surfside Beach leaders are changing how the town handles payments after officials said a cybersecurity incident diverted more than half a million dollars to a fraudulent account.
Town officials said Surfside Beach has been working to recover $545,000 after money intended for a contractor was redirected.
