MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – We’re giving you the First Alert to humidity and storm chances back in the forecast. Summer isn’t quite over yet.
TODAY
You’ll notice the increase in humidity as you step out the door this morning. Not only are the temperatures warmer, but the increased moisture is making that “refreshing feel” impossible to find today.
Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s for the Grand Strand today. As you move inland, expect highs to reach the upper 80s to lower 90s.
As humidity returns, we’ll bring back the chance for a couple of pop-up showers and storms through the afternoon. Storm chances are at 30% today.
INTO THE WEEKEND
A southerly wind continues to increase the humidity through the upcoming weekend.
For Friday, expect another warm and humid day with temperatures in the upper 80s near the beaches and into the lower 90s inland. Once again, we’ll keep the risk of a couple pop-up showers and storms around for Friday afternoon.
Our best chance for afternoon showers and storms arrives for the upcoming weekend as the humidity peaks. Temperatures will remain similar, sitting in the mid 80s for the beaches. As you move inland, expect highs in the upper 80s.
If you have plans Saturday or Sunday, don’t cancel them. However, we expect scattered showers and storms to develop each afternoon. The miserable humidity will lead to the risk of locally heavy downpours and thunderstorms both days. It will not rain the entire day.…
