A longtime Myrtle Beach grocery is shutting down permanently next month.
The Myrtle Beach Piggly Wiggly store at 1700 N. Kings Highway will close its doors for good on Oct. 11.
The Sun News was unable to immediately reach the Piggly Wiggly store owner for comment on why the location is closing. A statement shared to social media didn’t clarify the reason for the closure but did thank customers and the community for years of support.
“For many years, this store has been about much more than groceries. It has been about people, relationships, and a community that has supported us and allowed us to be a small part of their lives,” the post said in part. “To every customer who walked through our doors, every family who made us part of their routine, and every employee who helped make this store what it was, thank you. Your loyalty, friendship, hard work, and support have meant more to us than words can express.”…
