CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A settlement has been reached in a trademark infringement lawsuit Buc-ee’s brought against a South Carolina-based apparel company, court records show.
Buc-ee’s previously accused Born United, LLC, of using the chain’s signature beaver logo on clothing and merchandise. In a 2025 lawsuit, Buc-ee’s said Born United sold shirts, shorts, and other merchandise featuring Buc-ee’s federally protected beaver logo without authorization.

The Texas-based travel center also alleged Born United continued selling the products despite receiving a cease-and-desist letter.
Images in court documents show Born United’s designs using the Buc-ee’s beaver likeness dressed in military-style clothing, with the words “An American Tradition” printed above the icon.
