A fourth person has been arrested in connection to a months-long investigation into what police say has been the mistreatment of animals at a property in Longs.
Byron Scott Chestnut, 38, was charged with 25 counts of animals/ill treatment of animals in general/torture. His arrest comes after officers with Horry County Police in July arrested 20-year-old Jachym Evans, 24-year-old Themontres Livingston and 44-year-old Jemar Chestnut, who each have been charged with conspiracy/criminal conspiracy.
Officers arrested Byron Chestnut on Sept. 14, claiming he left dogs in an inadequate environment without food or water, according to an arrest warrant.
