Petition to ban Flock & ALPR cameras in Horry Co. started by Conway veteran

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — As the debate over Flock and Automatic License Plate Recognition, or ALPR, cameras grows, there’s now a petition to ban them in Horry County.

Conway resident Chuck Hooks started the petition on change.org.

The veteran tells ABC 15 he’s pro-police and understands the technology can be useful in solving some criminal cases, but believes our personal right to privacy is more important than creating a constant surveillance state…
