MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – If you’re ready to trade humidity for crisp fall breezes, relief is officially on the calendar across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee, but we have a few unsettled days to get through first.
TODAY
Lingering humidity continues today with late-summer warmth for the area. Highs will reach the lower 90s inland, while we climb into the low-mid 80s in the Grand Strand. Our muggy meter remains elevated today, keeping the risk of a stray pop-up shower possible. Most locations stay rain-free today.
MID-WEEK
Humidity stays locked in place on Tuesday with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Scattered showers and a few storms will develop during the afternoon and evening as daytime heating peaks.
By Wednesday, a passing cold front will trigger a pattern shift. Rain chances remain elevated Wednesday with a few showers across both the coast and inland areas. Highs will begin their downward trend into the low 80s.
By Thursday, a cooler, more stable air mass settles over the Carolinas. Expect a couple of passing showers, more clouds, and noticeably cooler highs in the upper 70s. Behind the front, humidity levels will begin to tumble.
FALL WEATHER ARRIVES
The payoff arrives in full force by Friday. Low humidity arrives as the drier air pushes into the region.
Highs Friday will top out in the mid-70s under plenty of sunshine, running below average for late September. Morning lows will dip into the low-to-mid 50s inland and upper 50s along the coast.
Whether you’re heading out to high school football games Friday night or planning weekend beach and festival outings, expect beautiful, dry conditions with a genuine fall feel…
