MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) –It may be the official start of astronomical fall, but fall-like weather will be delayed by at least another day. It’s still quite humid as you head out the door this morning, with temperatures running warmer than average. We should be starting in the mid to upper 60s this time of year, but temperatures along the coast are sitting in the mid 70s, while inland areas are in the lower 70s.
High temperatures won’t be quite as intense as they were yesterday, but they’ll still run a bit warm for late September. Beaches will top out in the mid 80s, while inland communities reach the upper 80s instead of the 90s we experienced on Monday. The humidity, however, will remain firmly in place throughout the day.
We’ll see a few rounds of light showers along the coast today, along with more cloud cover compared to Monday. The best chance for rain arrives this evening and continues through portions of the overnight hours…
