North Myrtle Beach Police seeking information after homemade explosive device found at beach access

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — North Myrtle Beach Police are investigating after a homemade explosive device was discovered at the 12th Avenue North beach access on Monday.

A bystander reported the object to law enforcement around 3 p.m. after finding it sitting on a ledge behind an outdoor shower.

The Horry County Police Department bomb squad responded to the scene and safely detonated the device at the Conway Bombing and Gunnery Range…
