Jamaican man sentenced in lottery scam with Myrtle Beach ties

MYRTLE BEACH S.C. (WPDE) — A Jamaican man has been sentenced to three years in federal prison for his role in a lottery scam with connections to the Myrtle Beach area, according to a spokesperson for the United States Department of Justice District Attorney’s (DA) Office of South Carolina.

The scheme targeted elderly victims, who were told they had won a sweepstakes and needed to pay fees to claim the money, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
