MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The third annual Survivors Ball that raises money for survivors of domestic abuse and violence took place in Myrtle Beach on Saturday.
My Covered Scars Resource Group returned to host the event this year and continues its mission of providing resources and support to victims in the area.
Founder draws on personal experience
LaToya Graham, founder of the organization, is a survivor of an abusive relationship and said she relies on her experience to help others.
“I am a domestic violence survivor, and my children and I do this because there was no resources for me, no development for me, they wasn’t having anything for our mental health or anything, so I started it for other people to get us back so that I would have resources, and so will they,” Graham said…
