Wawa could be coming to Horry County.
The Planning Commission unanimously approved Thursday plans to allow a new gas station convenience store to open in Little River – but residents aren’t happy.
The request, brought by WW LLC as an agent for Baytree SC LLC, sought to amend a 3.14-acre parcel at Water Grande Boulevard and Highway 9 East for a convenience store with gas pumps and a car wash. Although the lot is currently zoned for commercial use, developers needed permission to install gas pumps at the site.
The Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain has something of a cult following, particularly for its sandwiches and other fast foods. A new Horry County store would mark the first location in South Carolina…
