19-year-old charged with murder after shooting near Loris leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County authorities have charged a 19-year-old man with murder after a Jan. 16 shooting near Loris that left one person dead and another injured.

Tre’Shawn Jameek Earl Davis is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to online records for the J. Reuben Long Detention Center. He was booked into the jail on Jan. 18 and is being held without bond.

Mic’kell Grissett, 19, of Loris, died in the operating room at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center after the shooting, which happened at about 1 p.m. on Jan. 16 on Cheryl Road, the Horry County Coroner’s Office said on Thursday.

Davis allegedly shot both victims with a handgun, according to arrest warrants obtained by News13. Officers with the Horry County and Loris police departments responded to the scene.
