MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — In a significant crackdown on violent crime and drug trafficking, United States Attorney Adair F. Boroughs, along with a coalition of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, announced the indictment of more than a dozen individuals. These charges stem from a comprehensive operation aimed at reducing violent crime in Myrtle Beach and its surrounding areas.

The operation, which began in February 2023, was a response to escalating gang-related violence and narcotics trafficking in Myrtle Beach. Spearheaded by the FBI Columbia Field Office, the mission was to dismantle criminal organizations, particularly those involved in illegal drug distribution like the Rollin’ 90s Crips, G-Shine Bloods, and Gangster Disciples. This intelligence-driven initiative saw a concentrated effort from various law enforcement agencies to target these criminal networks effectively.

The culmination of this multi-agency investigation resulted in 13 defendants facing federal charges. Authorities seized a significant cache of firearms, ammunition, and various narcotics, including dangerous drugs like fentanyl, during the operation.
