HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – A Horry County middle school lost a teacher who many called an inspiration. Black Water Middle School announced on Monday that Mike Ballard died on Friday after losing his long battle with cancer. The school said he was surrounded by family when he passed.
