Myrtle Beach police report reveals new details about January gunfire incident that led officers to detain at least 2 men

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — A Myrtle Beach police report reveals new details about an incident last month that led to at least two people being detained and questioned after a patrol officer heard gunshots in the Park Drive area.

There have been no arrests in the incident, which happened at about 7:55 p.m. on Jan. 26 when an officer heard seven gunshots come from the direction of Ramsey Drive and Highway 15, the report said. The officer saw a man get into a brown Chevrolet Silverado truck, which was headed east on Pine Drive.

The officer pulled over the truck with South Carolina license plates at Pine Drive and Indigo Lane and saw two men with their hands out of the window, according to the report. The driver and a passenger were both detained and questioned by officers, and both denied that an injured person was involved.

Officers also noticed a black handgun, a bullet and a clear bag of unknown narcotics inside the truck, the report said.

As a detective and another officer arrived at the scene, the report said more calls came into dispatch stating that a man wearing a black hoodie and two other men, one of whom had a gun, were believed to be involved.
