News13 previously reported that the company had not complied as of Jan. 16, but on Tuesday, a DHEC spokesperson said the agency’s Bureau of Land and Waste Management confirmed that “most but not all of the solid waste material” at the site had been removed.

DHEC began investigating after getting a complaint on March 30, 2022, about unpermitted dumping and covering of solid waste. The complaint was accompanied by video footage “showing individuals dumping 55-gallon drum of blue sludge onto the ground.”
