Habitat for Humanity of Horry County to break ground on 175th home

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — Habitat for Humanity of Horry County will break ground Saturday morning on a milestone home in Conway.

Staff members, volunteers and supporters will attend the 9 a.m. groundbreaking ceremony for the 175th home built by the nonprofit group. The home on Turtle Street in Conway is sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities and Horry County HOME Consortium.

Monisha, the homeowner, said she applied with Habitat for Humanity because “home is a solid foundation…it holds an enormous amount of love and peace.” Monisha is from Conway and works at Grande Dunes.

“Becoming a homeowner will affect me and my family in a positive way, starting with having a safe shelter to call home,” Monisha said in a news release.

Monisha added that she loves to spend quality time with her family, singing, dancing, eating, and having fun. She also enjoys cookouts and outdoor activities, but her favorite thing to do is sing.

Monisha has experienced many ups and downs in life. She is proud to have received a promotion in her job, graduated from college and become a part of the Habitat family.
