‘Debby the Duck’ safe and sound thanks to News13 meteorologist Scotty Powell

But News13 meteorologist Scotty Powell will remember the storm for another reason — “Debby the Duck.”

Scotty found the tiny waterfowl outside his apartment after going home from work Wednesday night. He immediately knew it needed a new home, and after asking around and caring for it overnight and feeding it some bird see, he found the perfect place for his tiny feathered friend.

“So for those who have been asking, the little duck I rescued last night is in good hands,” Scotty said Thursday morning on X, formerly Twitter . “After a good nights sleep, I dropped ‘Debby the Duck’ off with Myrtle Beach Wildlife Rescue Center early this morning. They will let me know when Debby is able to be on its own! Thanks Kimberly and staff!
