FIRST ALERT: Humidity, storm chances to return Sunday!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Our comfortable start to the weekend will quickly give way to more uncomfortable conditions on Sunday! Drier air kept our rain chances away and prevented our heat index values from breaking the century mark. With an approaching cold front, we’ll begin to see an uptick in humidity overnight into early Sunday morning with temperatures falling into the 70s areawide. One or two showers are possible in our far inland zones as a complex weakens on its way out of the Midlands. We won’t see any immediate impacts from our cold front to start the day; plenty of sunshine can be expected with a quick rise in temperatures. Afternoon highs should reach the low to mid-90s with heat index values forecast to range between 100-110°. Dangerous beach conditions will persist throughout the rest of the weekend as distant Tropical Storm Ernesto brings us a high risk for rip currents and abnormally high surf.
