South Carolina DNR conducting courtesy boat inspections for Labor Day weekend

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will have free boat inspections in Horry, Darlington, and Marion counties for Labor Day weekend.

In an effort to keep waterways safe this weekend, SCDNR will have three days of free boat inspections at public boat landings around the state. It will conduct quick inspections for required safety equipment and boat registration.

SCDNR said anyone with a violation will not be ticketed but will be given the chance to fix any issues before putting their boat in the water.

From 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, there will be inspections at Johnny Causey Landing in North Myrtle Beach and Society Hill Landing in Darlington County. From 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, inspections will be done at Galivants Ferry Landing in Marion County.
