‘It’s rough’: Raises could be on the way for police department in Horry County losing officers

LORIS, SC (WMBF) – There could be light at the end of the tunnel for the struggling Loris Police Department as the city hopes to pay its officers more. City Administrator Clay Young said the city’s millage rate decreased after Horry County released its reassessment numbers, and the city now should have around $50,000 extra for staff raises.
