HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 60-year-old man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly cutting a woman with a knife and threatening to slit her throat, according to police records obtained by News13.

Jerry Lynn Williams of Longs was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. He was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Sunday, where he remains in jail on a $2,500 bond.

Horry County police responded to Radius Road for an assault on Sunday afternoon, according to an incident report. Officers met with the woman, who said Williams was intoxicated and had assaulted her with a knife. She had injuries on her arm, left hand and her head.

The woman told police there were witnesses present when Williams started assaulting her and threatened to cut her throat, according to the report. She managed to escape by getting into a friend’s truck, but not before Williams followed her, resulting in a cut on her hand and a bruise on her head.

Williams was located shortly after the incident, and police found him in possession of a crack pipe, the report said.
