Grand Strand speeds through 2024 Mustang Week at Myrtle Beach Mall

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — It’s been a special week as Mustang owners have once again converged on Myrtle Beach to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic muscle car.

“This Mustang community really is special,” said Scott Parker, vice president of content and strategy at Power Automedia, one of the organizers of the annual Mustang Week event in Myrtle Beach. “There are a lot of Mustang organizations and events that have kind of come and gone over the years, but this one has stuck around for 23 years because the community is so strong.”

The Myrtle Beach event is the largest all-Mustang event in the country, according to organizers, who said they expect this year’s event to attract 30,000 fans from across the country and around the world.

The event generates roughly $32 million for the local economy and gives many residents jobs for the week, organizers said.

On Wednesday, fans drove in rows of Mustangs at Player 1Up, an arcade bar in Murrells Inlet. Organizers said there is a free shuttle service from Player 1Up along Highway 17 to keep fans safe.
