MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Many Grand Strand and Pee Dee communities are holding different events as Wednesday marks the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack.
Here’s a list of some of those activities:
MYRTLE BEACH
- The city will host its annual Sept. 11 ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warbird Park. For more info on parking for the event, click here.
- Crabtree Memorial Gym is using its stairwells through Saturday for those who want to climb 110 flights of stairs to honor the first responders who died in the attack. For more info, click here.
- The city will host a performance from the Tabernacle Choir World Tour at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A joint choir from Myrtle Beach’s Mount Olive AME Church and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will sing “America the Beautiful” followed by an invocation. For more info, click here.
SURFSIDE BEACH
- The town will host a stair-climbing event at the pier. It starts at 8:45 a.m. For more info, click here.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH
- North Myrtle Beach will conduct a ceremony at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Horseshoe at the end of Main Street. The event presented by the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club will feature color guards, patriotic music, speakers and special dedications.
