Officers responded to the 2400 block of Rock Dove Road just after 8:30 p.m.

“The homeowner had concerns regarding an old military item he had purchased as a ‘doorstop’ at a garage sale. Proper protocols were followed, and support was requested,” the agency posted to its Facebook page.

The Horry County Police Department was called in to aid in the device’s removal.
