Surfside Beach restaurant announces it has closed its doors. Here’s what we know

A Surfside Beach restaurant announced Monday that it has closed its doors for good.

Shelle’s Bistro To Go , 818 Surfside Drive, posted on its Facebook page that it has closed permanently. The posting said that the restaurant closed due to “unforseen circumstances.”

The number to the restaurant went to voice mail which said it is no longer taking messages.

The restaurant has been in business for a little more than a year, opening in August 2023.

Facebook posts starting on Sept. 18 said that the business was having equipment issues, and eventually announced that it would be closed for the rest of that week.

It was located along the town’s main drag, having moved into a former salon.

The restaurant served homemade food that was available for people to come in and grab and go or dine in.
