Stafford has worked to give the shop a retro look, with posters of ā€˜60s iconic images such as VW Beetles and bands, including The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

Cozy spots, including a sofa covered in bright, retro flowers, and multi-colored chairs and tables, have been set up around the shop.

Stafford said she has wanted to open a coffee shop since first moving to the Lowcountry eight years ago, telling herself and others, ā€œIā€™m going to own me a hippie coffee shop at the beach,ā€ she said.

She moved from the upper part of South Carolina, but was inspired by the laid-back coffee shops in the Charleston area, where she lived previously.
