HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Authorities are asking people to avoid the area of Highway 707 and Holmestown Road because of downed traffic signals.
Horry County Fire Rescue responded at about 2:05 p.m. after the lights were apparently blown down by strong winds. The incident blocked traffic near Timberlake Drive heading toward Murrells Inlet.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is working to fix the downed lines and traffic signals.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Horry County police are assisting.
