First ever holiday drone show in downtown Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW)– If you noticed drones flying over downtown Myrtle Beach Saturday night, no need to fear, local officials know the exact reason. It’s because tis’ the season.

The holiday drone show is the newest addition to Winter Wonderland at the Beach.
Hundreds filled Plyler Park to see the 15 minute show that featured 100 drones choreographed to display holiday images.

“We were looking forward to it all week, it’s nice that they are doing this for us,” said attendee Scott Stanley. And with the recent drone sightings gaining National attention, that did not stop this crowd.

Once the show started at 6 p.m., it was all eyes to the sky.

“Drones are nothing new it’s just when they are the size of a car then people get worried other than that they are toys. But this show is phenomenal,” said Conway resident Ron Norrison. “This is the first one I’ve been to down here, but it was totally worth the ride. I mean the way they did it with drones, it’s totally amazing what they can do today.”
