NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) – A sea of blue ribbons is appearing across North Myrtle Beach on Friday, honoring a fallen hero who made the ultimate sacrifice. Three years after losing Sergeant Gordon William Best in the line of duty, volunteers are installing 2,000 blue ribbons throughout the city. It’s a dramatic increase from last year’s 1,000 ribbons, showing the growing impact of this memorial campaign.
