MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Well the severe weather potential did not pan out today across our forecast area. There was a large concentration of damage from the Columbia, SC area north into Charlotte, NC area. Here along the Grand Strand and Pee Dee, the line of storms accelerated quickly and outran the best energy associated with the cold front. Tonight, we will see clearing conditions with lows falling into the upper 40s to low 50s across the area.
Monday and Tuesday flow will be more westerly helping keep temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. An upper level low will move through the area Tuesday night into Wednesday bringing some clouds, and a few isolated showers. Much cooler temperatures will follow behind it. So a return to the winter chill is set for the end of the week into next weekend.
Another shot of colder air will be in place the first full week of January into the next weekend, where the storm pattern looks to perk back up.
