Nobody hurt, dog rescued in North Myrtle Beach house fire

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Nobody was injured in a large house fire that broke out Saturday night in North Myrtle Beach, officials said.

Crews were dispatched to Tarpon Pond Road in Charleston Landing just before 8 p.m. to a working fire in a two-story residence whose occupants escaped with the help of neighbors.

Officials said an attic area and portion of the second floor were “compromised” due to fire damage.

The home’s occupants were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and a dog was rescued unharmed from the second floor.

“Crews worked well in coordinating this challenging fire due to a rapidly spreading fire and limited access from the inside due to partial collapse of the floor on the upper level,” North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue said on its Facebook page.

The scene was secured shortly after midnight, but crews remained on scene until daylight monitoring for hot spots. Horry County Fire Rescue, the Myrtle Beach Fire Department and North Myrtle Beach police assisted on the call.
