CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Local school districts are announcing changes for Friday, January 24 as roads across the Lowcountry are still covered with ice.
Temperatures are forecast to stay below freezing on Thursday night, causing roads to refreeze overnight, potentially leading to dangerous black ice.
Charleston County School District
Charleston County schools will hold an eLearning Day on Friday. After-school and evening activities are canceled.
Berkeley County School District
Berkeley County schools will remain closed Friday and students will have an eLearning day. All schools and offices will be closed.
All before and after school programs, extracurricular activities, athletic events—including practices and games— and special events are canceled Friday through Saturday.
