MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Officials in South Carolina’s most popular tourism destination are expected to approve a major new public safety investment — pointing to a Jan. 1 truck attack in New Orleans that left 14 people dead.
An item on Tuesday’s Myrtle Beach City Council agenda would authorize an amendment to the current year’s hospitality tax budget allowing up to $630,000 for the purchase of dozens more barriers, a trailer and cabling that can be deployed during public events.
