Florence mother faces charges after being accused of hitting daughter with leather belt

FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — On Tuesday, a Florence mother accused of hitting her teenage daughter multiple times with a leather belt was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.

According to investigators, around Jan. 16, following a verbal altercation, Angela Monique Brockington, 42, is alleged to have caused bodily harm to her 15-year-old by hitting her multiple times with a leather belt around the teen’s arms and legs.

This caused visible swelling and discolored injuries to the teen, and investigators became aware of the allegations when school officials where the teen attends notified law enforcement…
