12-year-old caused over $10,000 in damage to South Carolina park; charged with vandalism

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 12-year-old Pawleys Island boy is accused of causing more than $10,000 in damage to a Georgetown County park bathroom over the weekend.

The boy was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with malicious damage to personal property exceeding $10,000, the sheriff’s office said. The alleged vandalism happened at a Stables Park bathroom on Sunday.
