SC secures grant money to reimburse Carolina Forest fire response costs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WPDE) — Governor Henry McMaster announced Friday that South Carolina secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“The grant will help ensure vital resources are available to suppress the fire burning near Myrtle Beach,” the release says.

This money allows local agencies responding to the Covington Drive fire to apply for a 75 percent reimbursement of their fire suppression costs…
