ENOREE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The South Carolina attorney’s general office said a former correctional officer was sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple charges including providing contraband to inmates.
According to Attorney General Alan Wilson, the former officer, 37-year-old Kevin Leroy Howard, was employed at Tyger River Correctional Institution when he was arrested in July 2023 after trying to bring cylinders filled with drugs into the institution hidden in his dinner.
Howard was sentenced to four years. Three of the years are for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute charges; the other year is for misconduct and contraband charges…
