MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Good Saturday evening everyone. Today was a beautiful day. We topped out in the low 70s to upper 60s along the coast. We made into the mid to upper 70s inland. Tonight we will see partly cloudy skies. Breezy conditions will begin to develop. It will be a mild night. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s area wide.
Sunday is a weather alert day. We have the potential to see damaging wind gusts, isolated tornado, heavy rain, and even some quarter size hail. The primary concern would be damaging wind gusts. We are under a slight, or level 2 out of 5 risk for severe weather. Timing for storms right now looks to be storms moving into the Pee Dee right now from 11 am – 2 pm. Storms moving into the Grand Strand between 2 pm until 6 pm. One short range model shows that a second line could form, but if we stay cloudy and have some showers that stabilize the air, I don’t think that second line will form. Something to watch for though.
As we get into Monday, conditions will get better. Partly to mostly cloudy skies will give way to more sunshine on Monday afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 60s, and will remain breezy behind the front. As we head into Monday night it will be pretty chilly across the area. Lows will fall into the low 40s, and with some colder locations in the Pee Dee and border belt being in the upper 30s…
