MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — The Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board on Thursday withheld final approval of a building permit application for a large apartment complex.
The decision came after the developers of the Pine Island Lux Apartments, which will have six multifamily buildings with 384 units, gave a presentation seeking a final review of the project. It includes an amenity building; community pool; pickleball and basketball courts; a dumpster enclosure; parking; and a landscaping plan.
Members of the board said there were not enough changes made to the project based on previous comments. They also said the layout seemed to be too institutional and blocky. The board’s decision means the developer will have to revise the plans and resubmit them for a final review.
