South Carolina bill would allow casinos along Interstate 95 corridor in Dillon, Marlboro counties

MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A bill filed in Columbia could allow casinos in both Dillon and Marlboro counties.

The new legislation could bring a new casino and resort to Marlboro County, but not everyone thinks it’s a good idea. Pastor Charles Alford says the possibility of a new casino and resort in the county is not exactly a good thing.

“I look at how the lottery itself, how it hurts people,” he said. “Some people play the lottery before they will pay their money for their light bill, for groceries. Now, for a casino to come in, I think it would do more harm than good.”…
