Ex-Little River teacher who allegedly had drugs on campus has educator certificate suspended

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A former Little River teacher who was arrested after allegedly having drugs on campus had his educator certificate suspended, according to the state Department of Education.

Aaron Musick, 50, was arrested last month and charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs near a school and manufacturing, distribution and possession of narcotics. He was released on a $25,000 bond two days after his March 7 arrest.

“The SCDE has reason to believe that, due to the serious nature of this allegation of misconduct, Mr. Musick may pose a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of students who may be under his instruction, and that emergency action is required,” the education department’s order of summary suspension reads. “After considering the evidence presented by the SCDE, the Chair of the State Board finds that Mr. Musick’s educator certificate shall be summarily suspended until a due process hearing is held and/or this matter is otherwise resolved.”…
