MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Two years after the city of Myrtle Beach partnered with a non-profit organization called the Adaptive Surf Project to provide beach wheelchairs for those with disabilities, community members have yet to see them on the beach.
In 2023, the city stopped providing free wheelchairs, which may have made it harder for disabled people and senior beach-goers to experience the Grand Strand.
Adaptive Surf Project stepped in, and just two weeks later, theypartnered with the city to bring back beach wheelchairs…
