Conway man gets 10-year prison sentence for gun, drug crimes

CONWAY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Conway man pleaded guilty and was sentenced this week to 10 years in prison for gun and drug crimes, the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office said.

Aleizon Diez Phillips, 23, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a second offense of distribution of fentanyl and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a drug distribution offense, the solicitor’s office said. Circuit Court Judge David P. Caraker Jr. sentenced Phillips to 10 years for the drug charge and five years for the gun charge.

The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Phillips only has to serve 10 years in prison, according to the solicitor’s office. He must serve at least 85% of his drug sentence before being eligible for parole…
