Myrtle Beach Elementary students go fishing with police department

Myrtle Beach Elementary Students honed their casting and reeling skills with the Myrtle Beach Police Department for the annual Cops N Bobbers Friday, April 4.

About 20 students between third and fifth grade spent their Friday morning fishing the pond at the Grand Park in Market Common with the guidance of a MBPD officer.

The fourth grade student fishing with Officer Gil Nazario caught the first fish of the day at a whopping 14 inches.

“I felt really excited, that was probably my first fish I ever caught,” the student said. He knew there was a fish on the line because his officer told him to wait for the bobber to go down. Nazario said the student really did most of the work…
