Update: power back on for 800+ households in Myrtle Beach, SC area. What happened?

Power was restored for over 800 households after a tree fell on a line in the Socastee area.

Horry Electric Cooperative confirmed 866 households were without power since Sunday morning from about 10:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The outage impacted homes near S.C. 544 and S.C. 707, an online map shows.

A resident was cutting trees when one fell on the power line. Crews removed the tree and power came back, said Jennifer Cummings, the public relations manager with Horry Electric Cooperative.
