CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is reminding South Carolinians that they must have a REAL ID-compliant form of identification as the May 7 federal enforcement deadline nears.
TSA officials said South Carolina residents will need a REAL ID-compliant license or another acceptable form of ID if they want to board an airplane for a domestic flight. The REAL ID driver’s license has a star in the upper right corner and a standard license without the star will not be accepted for domestic flights, according to TSA.
Required documents for claiming your REAL ID include one proof of identity, like a passport or US birth certificate, proof of legal presence for non-US citizens, two proofs of South Carolina residency, your social security card (if applicable), and your current driver’s license if you’re exchanging one issued by another US state…
