Horry County Schools chief rolls out $1.14B spending plan that includes teacher pay raises

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Horry County’s superintendent on Monday rolled out a proposed $1.14 billion budget for 2025-26 that includes teacher pay raises and more special education spending.

“Investing in educators means investing in excellence. That’s why we are recommending higher pay for Horry County teachers,” Clifford Jones told board members. “This budget reflects our deep commitment to retaining and recruiting top talent that make a difference every single day.”

If approved as is, the spending plan would mark a $22.7 million reduction from current year levels…
