The equestrian center planned for 500 acres north of Conway is still in the planning stages, but in the meantime, a portion of the property may be used as farmland.
“We’re trying to find a good fit for out community here. We’ve got a lot of preliminary designs and pushing forward,” Horry County councilman Al Allen said. “We have some funding in place. We’re seeking more funding, of course, because this will be a huge project. With the 500 acres of land being secured, we’ve got a good start. But this isn’t something that is going to happen overnight.”
At a Tuesday, May 13, meeting, the Horry County Infrastructure and Regulation Committee gave a favorable vote to a lease agreement with a local farm that will allow 70 acres of the land to be farmed. The agreement will now have to go to Horry County Council for three votes before it is approved…
